Do Google Play Books ebooks work on the Kobo Elipsa 2E in Canada?
Works, with extra steps
Yes, with a computer. Google lets you export most Play Books ebooks as an Adobe-protected file you open in Adobe Digital Editions and copy to the Kobo. Some publishers block it, and Google currently says export is unavailable for EPUBs you've downloaded before.
- In Play Books on the web, open your library and choose Export for the book.
- Install Adobe Digital Editions on a computer and sign in with a ByteBooks ID (it replaced the Adobe ID in 2026).
- Open the downloaded file in Adobe Digital Editions, connect the Kobo by USB, and drag the book onto it.
